GKI has established back in 1995 holding up the catch phrase "To English.

To the future." in the hope of giving our children,
who will take the leading part in the future society, the most efficient nad fastest English Education.
I has been 10 years since GKI was founded.
We are sure the effiency of our program has been tested by the students in our school.
We are proud of our effort to amke a better English-learning environment has eventually paid off.

GKI provides an ESL(English as a Second Language)
situational education environment to students to maximize the effect of English education.

The dependancy of teachers and program is absolute in the EFL environment.
They are the origin of education.

GKI uses North American language texts used in the ESL environment.
GKI hires only North American(USA, Canada) native teachers,
and they all have teaching certificates(TESOL included)

Curriculum
|
|
|
|
Training and orientation are given after arrival in Korea.
It has been designed to familiarize you with school, courses, policies and procedures as well as
to provide guidelines for a successful teaching experience.

|
|
GKI has its own program for its students.
|
|
|
|
GKI provides teaching materials and curriculum that
uses a Whole Language approach to the learning process that stresses the teaching of communicative ability.
|
|
|
|
Teachers are encouraged to suggest and share teaching methods and materials.
|
|
|
|
Kindergarten usually has 2 field trips a month.
|
|
|
|
GKI tries to provide the best working environment for its teachers,
and attempts at all times to assist them in every way to ease their transition into Korean life.
|
|
|
Payment / Benefit :
|
|
|
Monthly Payment
|
|
|
|
Monthly payment shall be given on the last day of each month.
It depends on the teacher's experience, degree, qualification, position and working schedule.
|
|
|
Severance Pay
|
|
|
|
Teacher will be get paid the one month payment as
severance pay at the end of the one year on successful completion of one year contract.
|
|
|
Overtime Pay
|
|
|
|
Teacher will be paid if he teaches more than the contract hours per month (1 session, 4 weeks).
|
|
|
|
Housing :
|
|
|
|
GKI provide a private apartment for each teacher (NOT shared).
|
|
 |
|
|
|
All apartments are within walking distance from the school (less than 3 minutes)
|
|
|
|
|
Basic furniture and cooking implements are supplied as part of our housing arrangements. :
Air-Conditioning/Heating, TV, VCR, refrigerator, Gas stove, kitchen table,
chairs, phone, laundry machine and kitchenware.
|
|
|
|
|
A Relocation Fee
|
|
|
|
Relocation fee will be paid to the teachers to provide the them with basic necessities for the settlement.
In addition, teachers might be paid in advance when they need some money for their first month.
|
|
|
Airline Ticket
|
|
|
|
Coming from the U. S and Canada:
The least expensive round trip airline ticket (Northwest, CA....) will be purchased by the teacher.
After arriving in Korea, the cost of the flight will be reimbursed with a purchasing receipt within a week.
|
|
|
|
Coming from Asia or other country:
The teacher will purchase one way ticket to Korea, that will be reimbursed by GKI with a purchasing receipt within a week.
A One Way ticket to the U.S or Canada will be provided by GKI after completing a one year contract.
|
|
|
|
Signing contract in while living in Korea :
In the case where a teacher is living in Korea and signs a contract with GKI,
that teacher will need to obtain an E-2. visa.
The teacher may have to travel to Japan, and acquire the proper visa before beginning teaching at this institute.
The round trip ticket from and to Japan for the Visa will be provided by GKI.
And, A One Way ticket to the U.S or Canada will be provided by GKI after completing a one year contract.

Sick Leave and Vacation
|
|
|
|
5 days paid sick leave: Documented sick leave and emergency leave will be paid for a total of five workdays a year.
|
|
|
|
Two weeks vacation ( 1 week (five working days) in Summer, 1 week in winter)
will be allowed to the teacher during the first year of his / her employment
|
|
|
Health Insurance
|
|
|
|
GKI School will provide assistance in obtaining National Medical Insurance for the teacher.
GKI and the teacher will jointly (half by each party) make the monthly payments
(approximately 2.0% of the teachers monthly income, while GKI provides the other 2.0%).
